Module Installation Guide

Before installing a Cirrus Link module, you must have an Ignition Gateway installed and download the desired module file.

Before You Begin

Install Ignition

Ignition is an industrial application platform developed by Inductive Automation that provides SCADA, HMI, industrial communication, data collection, and visualization capabilities.

Cirrus Link modules run within the Ignition Gateway and leverage Ignition's built-in features, including tags, scripting, database connectivity, and user interfaces.

If Ignition is not already installed, download and install it from the Inductive Automation website.
For installation instructions, refer to the Ignition Installation Guide.

Download a Cirrus Link Module

Cirrus Link MQTT modules are available from the Strategic Partner Modules section of the Inductive Automation Downloads page.

Navigate to the Downloads page.
Select the desired Ignition version.
Open the Strategic Partner Modules tab.
Download the Cirrus Link module (.modl) file you want to install.

Important ⚠️ Verify that the module version is compatible with your Ignition Gateway version before downloading. Compatibility information is provided on the download page.

Prerequisites

Before continuing, ensure that:

Ignition is installed and running.
The desired Cirrus Link module (.modl) file has been downloaded.
You have access to an Ignition account with Gateway configuration privileges.

Install a Module

Open the Ignition Gateway web interface.

The default URL is:

http://localhost:8088
```
Log in to the Gateway.
On the left-hand navigation panel, navigate to Config → Modules.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Install or Upgrade a Module.
Click Browse and select the module file to install.
Click Install.

Accept the License and Certificate

Depending on your Gateway configuration, you may be prompted to accept a license agreement or trust a module signing certificate.

If prompted:

Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, then Accept License.
Next, select I want to add this certificate to my trusted certificates and install the module to trust the certificate.
Continue the installation process.
