MQTT Distributor Module Overview

The MQTT Distributor Module is an MQTT server that complies with the MQTT 3.1.1 OASIS standard. It enables MQTT clients to securely connect, publish data, and subscribe to topics, making data available to operational and business applications across the enterprise.

When used with the MQTT Engine Module, MQTT Distributor provides a complete Message-Oriented Middleware (MOM) infrastructure within a single Ignition Gateway. Together, these modules support Industrial IoT (IIoT) and wide-area SCADA applications, including oil and gas pipeline monitoring and control systems.

This architecture is particularly effective in environments with limited or expensive network connectivity, such as VSAT and cellular networks. It can also improve data throughput and communication efficiency in high-performance industrial environments.

MQTT Distributor is available with two licensing options:

• Standard: Supports up to 50 concurrent MQTT clients.
• Plus: Supports up to 250 concurrent MQTT clients for larger deployments.
