MQTT Engine Module Overview

The MQTT Engine Module enables Ignition to subscribe to MQTT data and expose that information as tags within the Ignition platform. By connecting to MQTT servers and consuming published data, MQTT Engine provides a scalable and efficient method for integrating industrial devices, edge gateways, and enterprise applications.

Using a publish/subscribe architecture, MQTT Engine eliminates the need for traditional host-based polling by allowing edge devices to collect and publish data through a centralized MQTT infrastructure. This approach reduces network bandwidth requirements, simplifies data distribution, and supports distributed industrial systems where communication reliability and efficiency are critical.
